So I've been doing a little bit of research into the history of Valentines Day in an attempt to make myself look moderately intellectual. Sadly, wikipedia has failed me and it appears that Valentines Day has a pretty weak rooting in history...like most things, it's suffered from a bad game of commercial/corporate Chinese Whispers lead by the "man".
